JUNIOR is Justin Slater (vocals, harmonica and percussion), Steve Pederson (guitars, Mandolin, vocals) and Pete Arthur (guitars, vocals).

With an acoustic sound born on the streets of Adelaide, Junior have developed into a National touring and Festival act, and have begun their International careers with a successful six week tour to the US in Jan/Feb 2003.

Junior’s songs and sounds are reminiscent of the Counting Crows, Paul Kelly and The Gin Blossoms. Junior’s mix of passion, melody and harmony adds up to a powerful energetic acoustic experience.

TOURING Since January 2000 Junior has toured Vic, Qld, NSW, the ACT and the Northern Territory, playing in some of Australia’s premier venues, including Tilley’s, The Espy, The Cornish Arms, The Zoo and The Gov.

Junior has also played supports for Aussie icons such as Paul Kelly, Jimmy Barnes, James Reyne, Neil Murray, Hurst and Greene, Things of Stone & Wood and Chris Wilson. Internationally, they have also shared the stage with the Indigo Girls, Gary Jules and the Clarks.

As part of the Festival scene Junior have appeared at festivals such as The National Folk Festival, Canberra, Woodford Folk Festival, Queensland, The Illawarra Folk Festival, NSW, Port Fairy Folk Festival and Frankston International Guitar Festival, Victoria, The Wallaby Creek Festival, QLD and The Adelaide Fringe in the Spiegel Tent

INTERNATIONAL Junior toured the US in 2003, and the 6 week tour included sold-out shows in New York and Philadelphia. Venues performed at included the 9.30 Club, Washington DC, The Viper Room, LA, Joe’s Pub and Irving Plaza, New York.

US radio has also begun to embrace the band, with Philadelphia’s influential WXPN handpicking “Into the Blue” as the first single.
Other Radio Stations including WDST Woodstock and WRNR Baltimore have now play-listed Junior.
Junior also pre recorded live performances on the World Café and Mountain Stage Radio shows which are syndicated to 150 stations across the US aired in April and May 2003. In addition, Tower Records has placed Junior’s song “Room for Improvement” on a compilation CD released in March 2003.

Juniors single Talk about it has been featuredon Austereos Planet Rock as a Hit Prediction and been added to Nova 919 Homebrew October 2004 and is being played on 70 community radio stations across Australia.
