SUZANNAH ESPIE
"A Few More Days"
Suzannah Espie was guitarist / vocalist for cult all
singing, all playing, all girl Melbourne country harmony
trio GIT (one of the smash hits of SXSW some years back.)
A FEW MORE DAYS is the brilliant debut album from Suzannah's
new outfit. This release is deeply soulful & at times
slightly swampy country that is highlighted by great original
song writing.
It also features guest appearances by Ian Collard &
Marcel Borrack.
This release will appeal to fans of Lucinda Williams,
Allison Moorer, Kasey Chambers at her grittiest, and,
on the acoustic based cover of the Louvin Bros' 'Lay down
My Old Guitar', Gillian Welch.
On "A FEW MORE DAYS" we hear the intriguing
new voice of Suzannah Espie - a voice that is at once
as smooth as a Southern Belle's taunt and strong as a
front-bar fist.

"A FEW MORE DAYS" was, for the most part, recorded
live with Mixmaster Mick Wordley in Melbourne and later
mixed at his exotic rock-ranch studio in the Adelaide
Hills. Alongside her new band, The Last Word, Suzannah's
songs have acquired both the grittiness of the inner-city
and the openness of country Australia. The exceptional
acoustic tracks on the album were recorded with emerging
singer-songwriter, Marcel Borrack.
Some may have heard Suzannah Espie as one of the three-part
harmonisers from country-rock outfit, GIT. The Gitgals
recorded several successful albums earlier in the naughties,
including the centrepiece, FLOWERS, and a collaboration
with the US guitar legend Bill Kirchen, SATELLITE. GIT
were festival favourites in Australia and toured several
times to the US where, for one South-by-Southwest in particular,
the band was the toast of Texas.
Now, Suzannah Espie has emerged as an astounding singer
and songwriter in her own right. Her performances are
mesmerising: you are lulled by that softness in her voice,
and then punched in the nose with its sassy strength.
Currently Suzannah has credits on the soundtrack to the
film, "Look Both Ways", and the TV show, "Last
Man Standing."
